The Sega Dreamcast VMU Centre

FAQ's

I have a nexus card but I don't have a Dreamcast with a modem. How can I download saves from your site?

At the moment the Sega Dreamcast VMU Centre does not support Nexus .DCI downloads making it impossible for people without a Dreamcast modem to Download the Games and Saves hosted on this site. However in the near future you can expect this type of download to be available.

How Can I send you my VMU Saves?

Yes you can send me your VMU saves if you live in the US and have the Browser 2.0 or above, make sure that you send these through the browser. If you live in the UK and are using Dreamkey then please do not send me your saves as they are encrypted the moment they are sent and there is no way of un-encrypting them on a PC.

Can I link my VMU to a PC to download games and Saves off your Site?

No. There is no way of doing this, however there are particular memory cards on the market that allow you to do this for example a Nexus card.

I have bought a Japanese VMU and I was wondering if there was any programs that I could download that could translate it into English?

No. There is no program that allows you to do this at this present time, if or when this becomes available you can be sure that it will be available to download on this site.

Can I have more than one game on my VMU at a time?

No. At the moment the VMU can only hold 1 mini-game at a time. Maybe in the next version of the VMU you might be able to hold more.

Do I have to do anything special to get the mini-game onto my VMU?

No. All you have to do is select the Mini-game you want to download and which VMU you want to download the game to. It is as easy as that!

Will I lose my saved games when the batteries have gone flat on my VMU?

No. You will be able to save and load games even when the batteries are flat, this is because it will use power from the Dreamcast unit. However you will not be able to play Mini-games.

Some games don't work on my Dreamcast VMU when I try to download

Some VMU games might not work on different versions of Dreamcast because the Browsers are different for each country. For example Snaky does not work on the American Dreamcast at the moment but I am working on it.

Do I Need any Special hardware to download mini-games and saves?

No. All you need is a Dreamcast console and a VMU. All of the other unofficial VMU's work with all of the games and saves so you don't need an official Sega one.

If you have any Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ`S) about your VMU or your Dreamcast then please e-mail me.
